Home sale & listing activity reach historical norms in 2014
It was a typical year for the Metro Vancouver housing market in some respects. The region's home sale and listing totals for 2014 both rank 5th when compared against the past 10 yrs of activity, while home prices increased.
METRO VANCOUVER
SALES OF DETACHED - increased 16.1% in 2013 and 32.3% over 2012.
Detached homes continue to be the most sought after property type in our market. In Metro Vancouver detached homes have increased 8.1% over the last year while townhome and condo properties have increased 4.5% and 3.5% over the same period of time.
The total number of properties currently listed for sale in Metro Vancouver is a 10.7 decline compared to 2013.
Sales of detached homes increased 9.3%. Benchmark price now $1,002,200
Sales of condo's have increased 7.3%. Benchmark price now $380,700
Sales of townhomes have increased 8.8%. Benchmark price $476,800
